Nicola di Maestro Antonio d’Ancona ( Ancona , late 15th century – after 1511 ) was an Italian painter , documented from 1465 until 5 February 1511. Active in the Marche , he was one of the main exponents of the Adriatic Renaissance .
He was also an expert engraver and was recently identified as the ‘Master of the Sola Busca Tarocchi’.
Nicola di Maestro Antonio d’Ancona, son of the Florentine painter Antonio di Domenico, was perhaps born in Padua , then returned to his native Ancona . It was inspired by the style of Piero della Francesca and Carlo Crivelli ; His art has elements in common with that of Bartolomeo di Tommaso da Foligno .
